Position Summary: Easypost is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our core infrastructure systems. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable and efficient services, solving complex networking challenges, and managing internal tools and services critical to the functioning of our product. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including application engineers, Systems, and security, to ensure the smooth integration and performance of internal and external-facing services. This is a technical leadership role, requiring deep expertise in infrastructure architecture, scaling, and networking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

o Develop and maintain systems that handle significant growth, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.
o Work with engineering, Systems, and security teams to ensure that infrastructure and internal services align with broader business goals.
o Advocate and nurture a transparent engineering culture, actively participating in open design reviews and collaborative idea refinement.
o Build and maintain interfaces that allow for seamless communication between internal and external systems.
o Analyze and address performance bottlenecks in systems and services, ensuring that they scale effectively with increased load.
o Create and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health of services. Troubleshoot and resolve any infrastructure-related incidents.
o Produce comprehensive documentation, guidelines, and best practices for internal services, fostering widespread knowledge sharing and consistent adoption across teams.
o Model exceptional coding practices and software engineering principles, mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members.
o Build a positive team culture focused on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and delivering high-quality results.

Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field), or equivalent professional experience.
o Extensive experience (10+ years) in software development, with a strong emphasis on high performance services and infrastructure.
o Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Rust, or Python and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
o Deep understanding of modern software development practices, including agile methodologies and CI/CD.
o Familiarity with observability and alerting frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI).
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions to complex technical challenges.
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective in working with diverse teams.
