Title:

DG BOSS: Cashier (FN)

• Manage and operate cash handling operations to include personal checks, debit and credit cards, and traveler’s checks for retail IAW NAVSUP P-487 and NEXCOM directives.
• Account for all funds collected.
• Accept personal checks, credit cards, and traveler’s checks for purchases only after verification of proper identification and qualification.
• Operates a multi-function cash register (POS), credit card terminal, and computer to itemize and total customer purchases and make the change as appropriate. • Reconciles daily receipts and cash balances.
• Responsible for the security of cash, receipts, and property.
• Loads, offloads merchandise.
• Price stocks as indicated.
• Displays or sets products as directed and required.
• Maintains sanitation and security requirements.
• Prints and attaches barcode labels on merchandise as directed.
• Displays and stocks merchandise on shelves or counters.
• Observes “First In, First Out” (FIFO) procedures in pulling out merchandise.
• Conducts physical inventory IAW NAVSUP P-487 to prevent overstocking or lack of inventory.
• Never-Out items physical inventory is conducted every month. • Assists and interacts with customers and other store services
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable of sales items for demonstration and sales.
• Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
• Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Must have at least a high school diploma is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Must have at least a minimum of two (2) years of experience in any retail store as a Cashier or in a commercial establishment is highly desirable.
