CommBank’s Traded Products Operations team is looking for a Senior Associate to join our team focussed on the accurate processing, review, and control of Corporate Actions and reconciliation activities within our Business Institutional and Market Operations (BIMO) function.
 

BIMO is a team of 400+ professionals who support our Markets, Treasury, CommSec, Trade Finance and Payments businesses globally.
 

The Role. 
The Senior Associate, Market Operations (Settlements) is responsible for the accurate processing, review, and control of Corporate Actions and reconciliation activities within Market Operations. The role performs complex processing, second-level checks, and exception management to ensure positions, cash movements, and settlement outcomes are complete, accurate, and compliant with risk and control requirements
 

The role has scope across Corporate Actions Processing, Reconciliations and Break Management. You will perform and review cash, stock and position reconciliations related to settlement and post‑settlement activity, investigate reconciliation breaks and aged items, and identify root causes to drive timely resolution. Maintaining clear audit trails, evidence and commentary in line with SOPs and control standards will be a key part of your day‑to‑day work, along with escalating unresolved or material breaks within agreed timeframes.
 

Additional responsibilities will include.

  • Process Corporate Action events for Fixed Income and REPO products in line with documented procedures, ensuring accurate updates to positions, cash, and settlement outcomes.
  • Monitor Corporate Action events for Fixed Income and REPO products with settlement or funding impacts and manage associated exceptions.
  • Perform second-level checks and quality assurance over Corporate Action processing for Fixed Income and REPO products.
  • Liaise with custody, client data, and product teams to resolve Corporate Action discrepancies.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk Corporate Action events in accordance with escalation frameworks
  • Identify control gaps, recurring issues, or manual workarounds and raise and participate in improvement opportunities.
     

We’re interested in hearing from people who have 

  • Demonstrated experience in Market Operations with a strong focus on Corporate Actions and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of Global Markets products including Fixed Income, REPO, Money Market, and FX.
  • Hands-on experience processing and reviewing Corporate Action events impacting positions and cash.
  • Proven ability to perform and review cash, stock, and position reconciliations, including break investigation.
  • Experience performing second-level checks or quality assurance activities.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation controls, escalation requirements, and audit expectations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data analysis, reconciliations, reporting).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
