Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in developing propensity models and strong proficiency in modeling and data engineering. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Python and experienced in using AWS SageMaker. A Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field is preferred. Previous experience in the insurance industry will be considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and optimize predictive propensity models to drive strategic business decisions.
• Conduct thorough exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, relationships, and opportunities within complex datasets.
• Perform data preparation, feature engineering, and model validation to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Leverage Python and AWS SageMaker to build and deploy machine learning models efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, distribution, operation, product, actuaries, and finance, to understand business needs and deliver impactful solutions.
• Clearly communicate insights, methodologies, and recommendations to stakeholders through presentations and documentation.
• Continuously monitor and enhance model performance, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience in building propensity models and predictive analytics.
• Solid background in data engineering, data processing pipelines, and feature engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AWS SageMaker.
• Good understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and analytics techniques.
• Experience with SQL and working with large-scale data sets.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex insights clearly and concisely.
• Experience or skills in presentations and business stakeholder management.
• Strong business acumen and proactive mindset.
• Basic knowledge and interest in GenAI implementation.
• Previous experience within the insurance industry is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with additional AWS services (e.g., Glue, Lambda, S3).
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience in agile project management methodologies.
