SAP Security and Authorization Architect

The SAP Security and Authorization Architect is responsible to design, implement, and govern security strategies across our SAP S/4HANA landscape. The role involves defining the overall security architecture, developing and reviewing role designs, ensuring compliance with governance and audit requirements, and providing expert guidance on SAP security best practices. The architect will collaborate with business, functional, and technical teams to deliver secure solutions, manage risks related to segregation of duties (SoD), and oversee SAP GRC, Fiori, and HANA database security.

This position requires deep expertise in SAP authorization concepts, identity and access management, and strong leadership in shaping enterprise security frameworks.

Key Accountabilities

• Designs enterprise-wide SAP security architecture across S/4HANA, Fiori
• Oversees security and authorization of all SAP systems within the organization to maintain security and regulatory standards
• Develops, implements and maintains security roles and authorization concepts aligned with business and compliance needs for the SAP landscape to ensure alignment with organizational goals
• Represents the IT department during audits and inspections concerning the SAP system to ensure the organization adheres to security regulations
• Implements segregation of duties (SoD) controls and monitors compliance risks using SAP GRC Access Control
• Conducts regular security audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions
• Troubleshoots complex authorization issues across SAP modules and guides project teams in secure implementations 
• Oversees transport management and validates security changes in project and production environments

Education & Qualifications

• The minimum educational requirement for this role is a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP Security & Authorization, with at least 3 years in S/4HANA

• The scope of this role includes managing security and authorization of SAP systems, overseeing the implementation of security strategies, processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and organizational policies
• The impact of this role includes enhancing security compliance, protecting organizational information, ensuring process adherence and consistency, resolving issues efficiently, and contributing to corporate governance goals
• Requires making decisions on complex security and authorization issues, utilizing judgment and analysis, and determining appropriate actions based on defined compliance procedures and practices

• Strong knowledge of SAP systems and security regulations, and correlated documentation requirements. 
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, including expertise with procedural documentation writing 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
• Experience in conducting audits and assessments
