Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience as a boilermaker in the mining, oil and gas sector or in a similar industrial environment

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) 

  • A college diploma or a diploma from a recognized vocational institute (DEP) in boilermaking and welding

  • A valid Journeyperson Certificate

  • Fluent in French, with functional written and spoken English; please submit your resume in FRENCH

  • Valid driver's licence and clean driving record

  • Ability to anticipate potential problems, identify unusual conditions and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility

  • Knowledge of puller bundle operations would be an asset


Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance activities, including installation, troubleshooting and repairs of refinery equipment

  • Direct, plan and estimate a task safely, efficiently and cost-effectively, while reducing the impact on operations and the costs incurred

  • Read and interpret plans and specifications, and make diagrams, drawings and sketches

  • Call upon to carry out piping and boiler-making work within the maintenance group, on several types of equipment

  • Prepare materials and tools according to the various tasks assigned to you

  • Perform mechanical assembly and welding work; inform supervisor of quantities of materials and equipment, parts and components required

  • Review and apply safe work standards, methods and practices with a continuous improvement mindset to ensure safe and reliable work

  • Work with other trades and operations to ensure equipment reliability


Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work at our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

  • Hours of work: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and available outside normal working hours when required

  • Overtime available, depending on business needs

  • This position is safety sensitive

  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
