CME Group is currently looking for a Retail Business year-round intern.

This candidate will assist the Retail Business Team on day-to-day activities in support of Retail Sales & Distribution Team. Retail within CME Group is the fastest growing client segment, and the Retail Business team is at the forefront of steering its strategic trajectory with a keen focus on growth initiatives. The team works closely with senior leadership across all departments (e.g. Sales, Business Line Management, Marketing, Data Services, etc.) to identify short and long-term growth opportunities, as well as solve critical business challenges. The roles and responsibilities of the team are dynamic in nature, and include evaluating, structuring, and executing on new business opportunities, broker partner investments & programs, marketing and educational content, etc. in the Retail space. Charged with the mission of driving Retail growth and strategic alignment across CME Group stakeholders, the team excels in the art of crafting, fine-tuning, and delivering strategic Retail initiatives. These efforts are aimed at solving global business problems, enhancing CME Group's value proposition and global access for Retail traders, and ultimately amplifying CME Group's growth trajectory.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Conduct deep-dive analyses of competitor volume and market share trends to inform global retail strategy.

• Build and maintain data models that track competitor pricing, product launches, and regulatory shifts across the global retail landscape.

• Identify primary barriers to entry for retail traders entering the futures market.

• Monitor social sentiment and digital trading communities such as Reddit, Discord, and X to track emerging retail trends, volatility patterns, and shifting trader needs.

• Synthesize complex datasets into concise, visually compelling presentations that align retail specific goals with the broader corporate strategy.

Skills / Software Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, or Data Analytics preferred).

• Proven ability to conduct analyses and identify trends and patterns in the results

• Curiosity about financial markets and, ideally, the perspective or experience of a retail trader.

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Education:

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree required

Actual pay offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education, location of the internship, and the internship area of focus.
