Job Summary:
The Responsible AI Strategy and Approach Senior Manager/Lead will serve as the internal champion and principal architect for a proactive, enterprise-wide Responsible AI framework, strategically positioning the firm to move beyond mere compliance to achieve a competitive advantage through ethical innovation. As Accenture expands its development and application of AI, the program requires a robust, centralized Responsible AI Strategy and Approach, defined in partnership with key business functions, to establish our position on how we:
Develop robust, trustworthy AI systems.
Proactively manage and mitigate inherent AI risks.
Govern the ethical and effective 'Use' of AI solutions.
Ensure AI is secure, safe, and sustainable throughout its lifecycle.
The experienced and visionary Senior Manager is expected to champion this strategic mandate. The ideal candidate possesses deep understanding in both AI/data science and ethics/responsibility. They must maintain currency with the latest AI development methodologies, emerging technologies, products, vendors, and possess a clear perspective on the future trajectory of AI innovation. This role requires a leader who can articulate the opportunities and challenges of AI growth, define the organizational risks, and collaborate effectively to solidify Accenture's reputation as a responsible AI organization.
In Your Role You Will Be Expected To:
The Lead will be accountable for the following strategic outcomes:
Program Leadership: Lead and steer the RAI Strategy and Approach team within the Accenture Responsible AI Program, setting strategic priorities and guiding execution.
Risk-Informed Growth Strategy: Develop and continuously evolve an RAI approach that systematically enables confident business growth by helping teams identify, quantify, and address specific impact, harm, and risk related to their AI initiatives across the entire lifecycle, technologies, uses, and industries.
Strategic Roadmap and Enablement: Develop mid- and long-term strategies to enhance and grow the Accenture Responsible AI approach, and design assets and accelerators to make it easy for our people to follow that approach
Cross-Functional Integration: Drive essential collaboration across strategic partner organizations (including CIO, Information Security, Legal, and Sales) to ensure a comprehensive, integrated approach to organizational AI responsibility.
Standardization and Communication: Establish a consistent, standardized Responsible AI narrative across the RAI program and all partner groups to ensure clarity and alignment.
Regulatory Foresight and Policy Integration: Actively monitor and analyze emerging global AI regulations in collaboration with the Legal Data & AI Team, translating into actionable internal policies, technical standards, and control mechanisms.
Risk Repository and Assessment: Define and govern a comprehensive taxonomy of AI-related risks, ensuring the embedding of Responsible AI Impact Assessment across the AI development
Executive Steering and Governance: Chair or participate in senior-level, cross-functional governance forums to align the Responsible AI strategy with overarching executive business objectives.
Metrics and Reporting: Establish critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the operational health and maturity of the Responsible AI program, providing transparent, data-driven reporting on the firm's AI risk posture to senior leadership.
Defining Acceptable Use: Partner closely with Legal and business teams to define clear, context-specific Acceptable Use Policies (AUPs) for engagement with AI tools
Additional Information:
This role sits within Accenture’s Global Responsible AI team, part of the Global Data & AI Practice. It involves opportunities to work on high-impact, pioneering projects at the intersection of technology, ethics, and governance. Travel may be required, varying between 0–100% based on business needs and client engagements.

Problem-Solving: Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a proactive, anticipatory approach to identifying and addressing critical organizational challenges
Team Leadership: Proven track record of successfully building, mentoring, and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams (encompassing data scientists, engineers, ethicists, and legal counsel) to deliver measurable Responsible AI outcomes at scale
Ethical-Legal Bridge: Proven, practical experience in translating abstract ethical principles and evolving legal requirements into concrete, technical design specifications and enforceable operational requirements for AI systems
Experience (Proven Experience):
10+ years of progressive experience in technology, risk management, or strategic consulting, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to leading and scaling Responsible AI, Data Ethics, or AI Governance programs in a complex, global organization
Ecosystem Knowledge: Detailed and current understanding of the global AI ecosystem, vendor landscape, and future technical direction
RAI Tooling: Direct experience applying ethical AI frameworks, commercial tools, or open-source toolkits (e.g., AI ethics guidelines, fairness assessment toolkits, privacy-enhancing technologies)
Compliance: Deep familiarity with major global regulatory compliance frameworks related to data privacy and AI (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, sector-specific regulations)
Global Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate geographically distributed teams in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, ideally gained through experience in a global technology or consulting company
Thought Leadership: Prior publication of white papers, conference presentations, or material contributions to industry standards bodies (e.g., IEEE, ISO) related to Responsible AI or Trustworthy AI is a distinct advantage (desirable)
