We are seeking a talented and innovative AI Specialist to join our team, focusing on developing advanced speech recognition technologies for our voice assistant model in the automotive sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience in the latest trends and technologies within the AI/ML space. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing Speech & GenAI solutions, conducting research on emerging technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our product offerings.

Your Impact

  • Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in AI and natural language processing (NLP) technologies. Conduct research to recommend innovative solutions that can be implemented within the organization.
  • Model Finetuning: Leverage your expertise to effectively optimize the use of LLMs through prompting or fine-tuning, shaping them for optimal accuracy, naturalness, and performance.
  • Integrate LLM Capabilities: Design and implement software components and modules to integrate LLM capabilities into Cerence's speech recognition and natural language understanding systems.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse large sets of structured and unstructured data to extract meaningful insights.
  • Validation and Implementation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of LLM-based features. Support the deployment of models into various environments and ensure high performance, reliability, scalability and robustness in real-world scenarios.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement:  Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, data scientists and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into existing products.
  • Mentoring and Training: Share knowledge and expertise with other team members through training sessions and workshops, promoting a culture of learning and innovation.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. A master’s or PhD in a relevant discipline is a plus.
  • Good knowledge about Generative AI and Large Language Models. Fine tuning of LLMs, Implementation of LLM based Agents, RAG Pipelines, Function and Tool calling. 
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in AI and ML, by developing, fine-tuning and deploying models for real-world applications
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) with a focus on integrating Large Language Models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, and evaluation methodologies involving large-scale datasets and distributed computing environments
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model monitoring and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with Dialog implementations, Virtual Assistants, Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) or Text-to-Speech (TTS) applications. (Preferred)
