About the role
Part of Global Bid & Proposal Management, Large Deals Bid Manager (BM) is the point of contact and major stakeholder for a Deal/Opportunity, from initiation through sign-off. The BM interacts with internal & external customers in order to work through qualification, shaping, solutioning, response package creation & implementation of services. The BM understands the clients’ specific business needs, timelines and processes, translates them it into meaningful requirements, team staffing, budget and manages all working streams – solutioning, pricing, SoW, etc.

Daily challenges

  • Act as point of contact for the Opportunity Owner - in support of qualifying opportunities, assembling bid team with the solutioning or domain knowledge required to create a differentiated solution and winning proposal
  • End to End owner of the Pursuit Management Process 
  • Collaborates with the Sales or Account team to ensure appropriate messaging and strategy is reflected in the Pursuit
  • Works with Sales or Account team to define Pursuit schedule using standard processes toolsets
  • Creates and maintains a forecast of the resource requirements of each opportunity with a clear and comprehensive description of expected tasks, deliverables time scales
  • Ensures the pursuit team understands Pursuit process, deliverables, and due dates
  • Coordinate with our partners and other Third Parties for the opportunities wherever required
  • Work with the solution team and assist in developing an accurate understanding of business needs and related issues
  • Identifies probable competition and evaluates relative DXC strengths
  • Identifies required client deliverables, defines document structure, responsibilities and creates/maintains an outline to track files
  • Develops Pursuit plan using standard toolsets and communicates with support areas for efficient execution
  • Tracks the status of each client deliverable and escalates issues in a timely manner
  • Ensures compliance with corporate Delegation of Authority for sales transaction and associated governance process
  • Delivers a quality and compliant Pursuit, on time and to budget
  • Creates, maintains and communicates risk and issues log for all opportunities

eXperience and skills required

  • Familiar with Agile methodologies and principles
  • Holds recognized Project Management certification
  • Fluent in written and verbal English and German  
  • Strong client facing skills; builds client trust and engagement
  • Understands technical and business objectives of client
  • Makes the connection between industry trends and client needs
  • Strong Project Leadership skills
  • Adaptive Project Management skills utilizing best method dependent on the size and complexity of the project
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to operate effectively, making modifications to reflect changing circumstances
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills
