Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 2 based out of Roy, UT.
What You’ll get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks to fill a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 2 position in the Engineering and Sciences (E&S), Cyber organization for our Roy, UT campus. This position is a dual-role management position for the Sentinel, Mission Defense IPT, Cybersecurity sub-IPT. The first role is as the E&S Functional Manager for the engineers and analysts on the Cybersecurity sub-IPT. The second role is technical support for Sentinel Cyber Engineering. This position will report directly to the MS E&S Department Manager responsible for the teams supporting engineering efforts across multiple business portfolios within our Networked Information Solutions Division. The position is based in Roy, UT, but will require periodic travel to Northrop Grumman, subcontractor, and customer site locations.
From a functional perspective, the Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 2 duties include:
Provide functional oversight for a team of cyber engineers, systems engineers, architects, and analysts; this includes active employee engagement, career development, conducting employee performance reviews and merit planning, mentoring, and training
Promote adherence to our engineering processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality work products and reduce risk on the program; champion the tenants of the Mission Systems Engineering Playbook that provide a competitive advantage for our customers
Staffing and workload forecasting; recruit talent, to include recent grad candidates for entry-level positions as well as experienced candidates for mid and senior-level positions, to meet staffing commitments
From a direct program support perspective, the Cyber Engineering support team lead duties include:
Take responsibility for the more difficult tasks and expedite resolution of high priority and/or urgent program challenges
Act as a cyber-generalist in supporting the various Cyber Engineering teams
Leverage existing capabilities in cyber systems engineering and verification to support team efforts, specifically with regard to cyber activities support performed by other segments
Maintain ongoing awareness and understanding of the Cyber sub-IPT Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and support the Cost Account Manager (CAM) in status and execution support for all technical tasks
Support ongoing acquisition and maintenance of team member Cyber qualifications
Agile coaching for teams utilizing SCRUM and Kanban methodology and documentation in the Atlassian Suite.
Additionally, as the MS E&S support for Sentinel and other synergistic cyber efforts grow, future teams will report up through this manager, potentially expanding the span of control to multiple sites.
Basic Qualifications for Cyber Systems Manager 2:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of technical experience in any combination of Cyber Systems, Software, or Hardware engineering disciplines accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development; Master’s degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 3 years of experience
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
Must have proven technical management experience preferably in either program IPT, R&D or Advanced Systems, technology, and/or functional environments
Working knowledge of Program Execution, Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, Processes, and Tools
At least a current CISSP certification with the ability to obtain a CISSP-ISSEP or CISSP-ISSAP no longer than 3 months after hire
Preferred Qualifications for Cyber Systems Manager 2:
At least 2 years of previous experience in People and Technical Leadership roles
MBA and/or Master of Science degree in Engineering or other STEM discipline
Active TS clearance with additional preference for SCI access
Experience effectively leading diverse technical teams across multiple locations
Experience as a technical leader and visionary with knowledge of cyber systems in support of large Department of Defense programs
Systems engineering experience and knowledge of standard practices
Experience using DOORs, CAMEO engineering tool platforms
Able to demonstrate success in applying leadership characteristics to achieve sustainable top performance, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and rewarding innovative behaviors through all levels of the organization.
Strong abilities to collaborate and lead virtually as a part of a geographically dispersed team.
Success in influencing the direction of technology discriminators, including identifying and championing change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business.

Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
