Are you looking for a rewarding career in the insurance industry, where you can make a difference for customers and grow your skills? As a Markel Specialty and Personal Lines Sales & Service Representative, you will deliver quality customer service and insurance recommendations to current and prospective Markel customers. This is a combined service and sales role with the expectation that sales vs. service responsibilities will be split and decided based on business needs. All sales leads are provided and there is no outbound cold calling.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work diligently to find resolution to customer concerns and escalate to appropriate level when necessary.
  • Convey information efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in order to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Strive for first call resolution in order to provide “best in class” service.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus!
  • A current property and casualty insurance license.
  • One or more years of customer service related experience.
  • One or more years of insurance sales/service experience desired.
  • A strong technical background/ability to multi-task in several systems at once.
  • A willingness to learn new material and systems/applications.
  • A dedication to providing a positive customer experience.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone.
  • Accountability and reliability.

Work Location:

This position is either Hybrid (3days in office/2 days at home) if one lives near Markel office location or 100% work from home if outside of Markel office location.

US Work Authorization

Pay information:

Compensation:  Starting pay ranges from $18.50 - $20.00/hour based on the candidate's experience, education. Hours are Monday-Friday and possibly some weekends depending on the role.

 *In addition to regular hourly pay, there is an annual Performance Bonus Potential.

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
