Coordinator- Shipping & Receiving

Brief Description

This position supports all Finish Good shipping activities. Pick work tickets, perform Sherpa Gate duties, Process UPSEcommerce. Assist with various data entry processes, Production Reporting, Inventory Transactions, and Sale Orders – Pick, Pack, Ship, Supervise the processing of the customer return process (RMA).

Key Accountabilities

  • Quality in everything we do: To actively reduce defective shipments to our customers by searching out potential problem areas. Ensure team members are effectively trained and follow the established process every time. Continue to reduce and root cause errors in picking, reporting, and shipping.
  • Pick work tickets, Perform Sherpa Gate Duties, Process UPS
  • Customer care: To ensure the customer is provided shipments on-time, every time. To respond urgently to customers requests and to satisfy short-dated orders whenever possible. Missed deliveries must not be tolerated by the team.
  • Coordinate Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen) initiatives to increase overall manufacturing efficiencies at the lowest cost possible. (Promote continuous improvement culture)
  • Support internal supply chain to meet quality and delivery requirements for the end customer.
  • Train, motivate, and create a continuous improvement environment where all employees are involved in Kaizen/ 6-S activities, and actively contributing improvement suggestions.
  • Assist in providing data and/or analysis for key business indicators. (Value Stream OTD, Delinquent Backlog, Quality, Safety, Availability, Manning, and Inventory Control).
  • Work with the management team to improve TAE by initiating and/or facilitating team building events that also support our community such as Relay for life, food drives, fund raising walks, Habitat for Humanity, etc.
  • Participate in Business Process (Transactional) Improvement workshops.  Document and train associates on any/all improvements/changes made in the process.
  • Champion area safety by assisting in providing a safe work environment for all associates.  Help ensure First Aid Responder Teams are regularly trained, equipped, and ready to provide emergency care.
  • Work and interact with multiple intercompany departments – Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Service, NPD, and Engineering.
  • Back up forklift driver – load and offload goods when needed.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with assignments in shipping and receiving, utilizing lean manufacturing/continuous improvement tools and processes.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining material pull systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Forklift certified. (a plus, not required)
  • Experience with D365 system performing complex transactions. (a plus, not required)
