What You Will Do:
 

Become part of our team to work on projects to accelerate the green energy transition nationally and globally. Our projects tackle critical aspects of the energy transition such as investment frameworks for clean energy technologies (including electricity market design and support schemes), renewable energy integration, sector coupling, industrial transformation, and the ramp up of the hydrogen value chain.

In our industry projects, in particular, we support our clients in

  • EU and national regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU ETS, CBAM, RED III, ESPR & CPR),

  • policy design for climate-friendly industry,

  • financial mechanisms,

  • green value chains assessment,

  • technology options to decarbonize industries,

  • develop roadmaps and necessary infrastructure and

  • manage stakeholder processes.

  • You will work with a team across disciplines (e.g. engineers, natural and political scientists, economists) and consulting teams to allow developing sustainable and innovative solutions through the combination of policy competence with technical and economic expertise. Our international projects focus on implementation of industry decarbonization in close collaboration with the local stakeholders.

  • Under guidance and together with our team, you will contribute to successful project implementation by supporting structured policy analysis and design, technology assessments, data gathering and assessing, supporting project management and contributing to stakeholder and partner management as well as communication work. You will work on projects for public institutions (and to a lesser degree for corporate clients) on national, EU, and international level.

  • Build good relationships with the wider Guidehouse team and establish client, industry networks and uphold Guidehouse’s values of respect, integrity, innovation, stewardship and excellence and support our culture of inclusion & diversity.

What You Will Need:

  • Master’s degree or similar relevant academic background in (energy/environmental/electrical/industrial) engineering, economics, natural or political sciences with significant focus on energy and industrial transition, with 1-3 years of work experience (incl. internships) in consultancy and/or the energy sector (public institutions, consultancy, corporates, utilities).

  • Knowledge of relevant policies for industrial transformation, low-carbon technologies and market trends.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

  • Fluent English language (written/spoken). As a global company we work with clients primarily in English, so fluent English language skills are a must.

  • B2 level German language (written / spoken). German language skills are important important to serve our clients located in Germany.

  • Willingness to travel and work internationally on occasion incl. outside Europe.

  • Able to work on multiple projects and show a good understanding of the project objectives and client expectations.

  • A strong communicator with excellent written and presentation skills and engaging with different stakeholders

  • Able to show a working knowledge of data collection, organisational and analytical skills.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Ideally, you already have experiences in some of the following areas:

  • Deeper insights into national, European and international policies and initiatives on industrial decarbonization.

  • International experience, preferably with relevant internship or some related work experience.

  • Knowledge on the policy (EU ETS, CBAM, Green Lead Markets, etc.) and technical side of the industrial transformation (industrial processes, H2 and CO2 infrastructure, life-cycle assessment methods and tools)

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Turkish).
