Who are we?

Right across the Pipera metro station, the Samsung Shared Services Centre Europe, established in 2016 in Bucharest (Romania) covers Financial, Customer Service and HR processes for Samsung subsidiaries across Europe.

Role and Responsibilities

What is the role about?

As a Senior Accountant you will mainly cover Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, basic general ledger transactions, reporting, audit and Continuous Improvement activities, being in charge with:

* Performing audit for the accuracy of the accounting postings performed by an external provider (AP & AR processes), in the aim of obtaining and reporting accurate KPIs;

* Reviewing in SAP AR documents (customer payments) as well AP documents (invoices and employee expense claims), performed by an external provider and rejecting those entries which fail accuracy;

* Producing regular reports and/or presentations with the support of your Senior colleagues and/or Supervisor, with the purpose of monitoring the external provider for the AP & AR operations, identifying process issues, proposing corrective actions and ensuring these are implemented and followed;

* Participating to weekly calls held together with external provider and Samsung Subsidiary representatives (AP & AR), ensuring all operational issues are addressed, action plans identified and put in place together with monitoring the progress on resolving the respective issues;

* Acting as owner for Month End Closing and perform ad-hoc specific Closing tasks.

* Ensuring accuracy of financial documents in accordance with international standard and internal policies;

* Maintaining the confidential aspect of the financial data;

When required, participating to Continuous Improvement projects with the purpose of implementing Best Practices across European Samsung subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with the internal regulations set by Global Headquarter, automating different processes, increasing efficiency etc.;

Acting as an ambassador for promoting Samsung Shared Service to our European subsidiaries, ensuring services are delivered in line with the agreed levels of quality and productivity
 

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree/Master's in Accounting or related area;
• Meaningful accounting experience is required (GL/AP/AR), especially closing activities;
• Experience of SAP FI systems preferable;
• Good Excel and database skills;
• Good analytical and problem solving skills;
• Detail-oriented with good knowledge over (IFRS) accounting procedures;
• Ability to work independently and also a great team-mate;
• Tact and diplomacy skills, acting as an Ambassador for promoting Samsung SSC services to our European subsidiaries;
• Time management skills and good level of stress resistance, being able to meet deadlines and solve any bottlenecks along the way;
• English written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organisation;
