Roles and Responsibilities
People Leadership & Development: Champion a culture of continuous learning and growth. Provide regular, actionable coaching to team members, supporting their career aspirations and ensuring they develop the technical and leadership skills needed for success within GE Vernova.
Operational Excellence: Lead the team in executing combustion design and evaluation using rigorous engineering principles. Utilize lean operating rhythms, bowler metrics, and visualization tools to facilitate daily management and ensure projects meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) targets.
Technical Strategy & Alignment: Provide technical leadership in combustion design, troubleshooting, and testing. Facilitate cross-functional discussions between Systems, Product Line, Sciences, and the Chief Engineer’s office to clear roadblocks and ensure alignment on product CTQs.
Collaboration: Keep strong connections with global module teams to leverage best practices, share insights, and review key design decisions as "one engineering community."
Strategic Growth: Develop a continuous improvement roadmap for product, people, process, and technology to drive combustion differentiation in the market. Champion adoption of lean practices.
Execution & Rigor: Provide hands-on support during critical design phases or product testing. Ensure all technical data generated by the team is consistent with engineering QMS policies and internal standards.
Communication: Provide timely, transparent communication on significant technical issues or developments to the broader GTE leadership team.
Customer-Centricity: Anticipate internal and external customer needs. Ensure performance and processes are measured through the customer's eyes to deliver maximum value.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in gas turbine engineering, power generation design, services, or testing.
Proven experience as an engineering leader with a track record of successfully managing and scaling teams. Minimum 5+ years of team, project, or resource management experience.
Strong technical experience in gas turbine or turbomachinery combustion systems.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and build rapport at all levels of a global organization.
BE/BTEch, ME/MTech/MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Thermal, or Energy Engineering.
