Your Opportunity

The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.

The International Sales Manager (Japan) plans and implements international sales and marketing programs within the Japanese market for the sales of fresh pork and processed meats.  This position coordinates the development of sales objectives, strategies, and promotional programs and ensures their execution.  Works with accounts to expand business through new product development and distribution networks.  Negotiates pricing and finalizes sales. Provides management with information used to evaluate international opportunities.

  Core Responsibilities

  • 25%     Develops sales, marketing and pricing strategies for each market in assigned country.

  • 25%     Coordinates activities with agents, distributors, brokers to develop new sales and expand existing sales.

  • 20%     Develops sales networks and collects market information.

  • 15%     Assures customer satisfaction through problem identification and solving.

  • 15%     Provides management with up-to-date information regarding overseas operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant sales experience in retail or foodservice meat trade; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to negotiate pricing and contracts.

  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

  • Prior International business experience is a plus.

  • Travel up to 30% of the time.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
