Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Analyze underwriting data and identify trends, report findings, and make data-driven recommendation for improvements.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline underwriting workflows and improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

  • Contribution for development of underwriting workbench, underwriting rule engine and point of sales platform

  • Create and enhance underwriting policies, procedures and guideline in order to deliver and build the new business and underwriting knowledge in sales chancel and operations

  • Work closely with stakeholders e.g. legal and compliance, IT, product, business development, reinsurer etc. to support the development and review of new initiatives

  • Plan, execute and complete projects aimed at enhancing underwriting processes in accordance with timely delivery, regulatory compliance and business objectives.

  • Provide deep underwriting expertise to support complex underwriting decision, process improvement, training initiatives and strategic projects within underwriting team or initiated by other business teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance or related discipline

  • Proven experience in underwriting, preferably with project management experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean / Six-Sigma certification or equivalent is preferred

  • Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) is a plus

  • Deep understanding of underwriting processes, risk assessment methodologies and policy evaluation

  • Knowledge of quality assurance and audit procedure to evaluate underwriting accuracy and compliance

  • Understanding of workflow optimization methods and techniques to enhance underwriting efficiency
