  • We're on the lookout for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Bookability team on its ambitious mission in our Prague office (in a hybrid mode).

  • Bookability is one of Groupon's strategic initiatives, aiming to elevate our offerings by allowing customers to conveniently book deal appointments directly from the Groupon interface. To achieve this, we need to integrate seamlessly with popular booking systems, making the process smooth and attractive for merchants. This is where the Bookability Integrations engineering team comes in.

  • We're just at the beginning and looking for someone with a builder's mindset, someone who won’t be stopped by things not going right the first, second, or even third time.

What is our mindset?

  • We see ourselves as a sports team, striving to assemble the best team with the available resources. While maintaining values like fairness, mutual support, and respect, we also focus on performance, aiming to build a top-notch organization capable of delivering excellent results quickly. Our culture is built on courage, ambition, and is strongly meritocratic, allowing the most capable individuals to grow rapidly.

🚀 Job Responsibilities:

  • Map out the needs in detail and manage your own Bookability Integrations squad to cover the entire merchant-facing Bookability agenda.

  • Connect new and maintain existing third-party booking engine solutions (e.g., Booksy, Mindbody) via their API to integrate with our backend services for seamless data exchange.

  • Ensure flawless data connections to third parties.

  • Take ownership of the data flow within our internal systems (Groupon customer-facing site, Salesforce, etc.).

  • Create an easy-to-use interface and workflow for creating new deals in our internal deal creation tool using data from integrated booking systems. This tool must work across desktop, mobile web, and mobile app platforms.

  • Form an operational paratrooping squad to cover the entire bookability vertical independently, including front-end and back-end development and QA.

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager for Bookability to meet business needs and take full ownership of the engineering delivery.

  • Lead the Bookability Integration Team on a daily operational level within a Scrum framework (daily stand-ups, groomings, etc.).

  • Manage the team (including regular 1:1 meetings), administrative agenda, and reporting.

📝 What we are looking for:

  • The builder gene: You should thrive in chaos but have a natural drive to bring order.

  • Proven track record in an engineering leadership role, with the ability to manage your team both technically and personally.

  • Strong business-driven mindset, with a focus on results.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Experience with managing platform services, delivering projects in dynamic environment

  • Experience with managing high performance individuals
