Key Responsibilities:
Shadowing our Producers – Learn more about the sales process for surety. Best practices for contacting prospects and prequalifying them. Learn how to cultivate relationships with underwriters and sell accounts.
Spending time with our Contract Bond staff – Learn the underwriting process that goes into placing surety business. Gain experience working with lines of credit and the approval process to issue bonds.
Spending time with our Commercial Bond staff – Learn about all the different types of bonds needed for all states and businesses. Gain experience guiding customers through our on-line binding process.
Support account managers in servicing our clients - Learn how to issue and review bid bonds.
Spend part of the internship with our Construction division – learn how insurance and surety work in the construction industry.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
Preferred majors include, Risk Management & Insurance, Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professional
