We are looking for a Director, Credit Cards & Pricing Strategy to lead our credit card strategy & analytics team.  Our Partner Analytics & Strategy team works closely with our Financial Institution partners to maximize their performance on our platform.  This analytically rigorous team is essential in using analytical & strategic skills to create data-driven recommendations to develop and deepen relations with our partner network. This team also identifies new areas for our partners to grow and for Credit Karma to optimize the performance of our largest and most scaled vertical. Additionally, you will lead our Pricing team, which works across our verticals (Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Auto Loans, Home Loans, and Insurance) to set the prices we charge our partners for the conversions we deliver to them. By blending internal analysis and competitive intelligence, this team ensures we set fair and consistent pricing for our partners while promoting resilient growth for Credit Karma. 

This role will report to the Head of Partnership Analytics & Strategy and will work with cross-functional internal teams (Partnerships, Partner Decision Science, Partner Success, FP&A), as well as relevant counterparts at partner financial institutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Guide strategy & well-managed analysis within our Cards business through in-depth analysis of business problems and opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally with key internal teams to not only identify new areas of growth, but also to implement and execute them to unlock real business results
  • Present key findings and updates to our partners by delivering data-driven insights and recommendations via ongoing touchpoints and strategic reviews
  • Serve as a thought leader within the company by identifying new ways to further grow our overall partner strategy, as well as to unlock growth for our partners
  • Lead a large and growing Pricing agenda, as well as identify opportunities for Credit Karma to leverage pricing as a strategic revenue driver
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of analyst to support their careers and professional development

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in highly quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering or a related field 
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience across analytics and/or business strategy
  • 4+ years managing and mentoring high performing analytics teams
  • Prior industry experience in financial services and consumer lending / consumer credit, with experience in Credit Card acquisitions and/or underwriting highly preferred
  • Proficient with database querying, such as SQL and BigQuery
  • Familiarity with credit bureau data as it pertains to acquisitions and risk modeling 
  • Executive presence with the ability to succinctly, confidently and articulately defend and challenge positions in both verbal and written communications   
  • The ability to deeply understand businesses through thoughtful data analysis, enhanced by building networks and gathering context across the organization
  • The ability to communicate complex, sophisticated analytical insights simply to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s or graduate degree in relevant field (e.g., MBA, applied math, statistics, engineering, or related)
  • Prior work experience at a major credit card issuer
  • Deep understanding of lenders’ major KPIs and metrics, such as their revenue streams, profitability and risk, across different financial products
