Job Summary

In this role, you will support digital commerce transformation for Consumer Goods and Retail clients — helping them grow, engage, and remain discoverable across channels as customer discovery increasingly shifts from traditional search to AI-driven platforms. You will bring solid foundations in SEO and digital performance, and apply that expertise to help clients navigate Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and the broader implications of agentic commerce on how products are found, evaluated, and purchased. Working as part of a GN SONG consulting team with deep CGRT expertise, you will connect digital commerce execution with emerging AI search capabilities — helping clients adapt structurally and stay commercially relevant.

Roles & Responsibilities

As part of these, you will support and contribute to the following:

  • Digital commerce transformation in CGRT: Contribute to programmes that improve how Consumer Goods and Retail brands sell and grow across D2C, marketplace, and omnichannel environments — bringing both commerce execution and search expertise to client engagements.
  • Commerce and discoverability assessment: Evaluate client digital commerce capabilities including product content quality, channel strategy, and platform structure — identifying gaps that impact performance across traditional and AI-driven discovery environments.
  • GEO & AEO strategy and roadmap support: Build optimization roadmaps that bridge proven SEO fundamentals with GEO and AEO principles — helping CGRT clients adapt how their products, content, and brand presence perform in an AI-first search landscape.
  • Product discoverability across AI platforms: Identify and implement improvements to how client products and content are surfaced and cited by AI platforms — spanning content structure, technical SEO, and product and brand entity alignment across digital touchpoints.
  • Performance management and reporting: Track and report on digital commerce and search performance metrics — including brand citation trends, share of voice in generative results, and visibility coverage — connecting findings to commercial outcomes.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work alongside SEO, content, PR, analytics, and technology teams to ensure search and commerce efforts are integrated across channels and embedded in broader transformation programmes.
  • Sector-focused capability building: Develop working knowledge of GEO, AEO, and agentic commerce trends with a specific lens on their implications for product discovery and shopper journeys in Consumer Goods and Retail.

Professional & Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience in SEO, digital marketing, or content strategy within Consumer Goods or Retail — with a developing understanding of GEO, AEO, and AI-driven search.
  • Understanding of how Consumer Goods and Retail commerce works — including product content, category management, digital shelf, and performance levers across D2C and marketplace environments.
  • Ability to connect digital commerce and search performance to commercial outcomes — translating findings into clear, business-relevant recommendations for client stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with enterprise SEO and digital analytics tools; exposure to GEO/AEO tracking tools is a plus.
  • Experience developing client-facing reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across marketing, technology, and strategy teams in a consulting environment.

Additional Information

  • MBA/PGDM from Tier 1 or Tier 2 institution preferred; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of total experience, with at least 3+ years in digital commerce, SEO, or content strategy within Consumer Goods or Retail.
  • Exposure to GEO, AEO, or agentic search concepts is preferred — curiosity and appetite to build this capability is equally valued alongside experience.
  • Prior exposure to consulting or client-facing advisory roles is an advantage.
  • This role requires alignment to the US market; English proficiency is essential.
