The pay range is $144,400.00 - $259,900.00

A role in Design Engineering, Activation and Product (DEAP) means creating industry leading intelligence solutions to drive best in class omnichannel guest experiences at the lowest cost to Target. The TTOPS (Target Transportation Operating Systems) product team sits within DEAP and is responsible for the delivery of product outcomes which enable the future transportation operating model. Transportation’s role in Supply Chain is critical as it enables getting inventory into our network (First Mile), moving inventory within our network (Middle Mile), and delivering goods to the Guest (Last Mile). We’re looking for exceptional people who are proactive, creative, independent, innovative, risk-savvy and comfortable working in varying degrees of ambiguity 

Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliableProduct teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work. 

The Product Director Domestic Execution has product portfolio responsibility for the technology that facilitates getting inventory into Target’s Global Supply Chain and Logistics (GSCL) network inbound, moving loads from DC’s to Stores, and Linehaul moves from stores to the sortation center. This role will oversee a team with a tremendous amount of active work which will be game-changing for supply chain visibility, accuracy, efficiency, and cost optimization. You will have broad-ranging scope and reach, as the user base spans suppliers, carriers, and internal Target users. Leveraging both third-party and custom-built applications. To be successful in this role you must have technical acumen, and the capacity to lean into complex, multi-faceted problems, guiding your team user focused development to delivery. This position will work across GSCL and Enterprise teams to align roadmaps and establish priorities to maximize business value. GSCL systems share many upstream and downstream dependencies, therefore you must have the ability to create strong partnerships with your peer group and align to a matrixed stakeholder base in order to drive prioritization and accomplish goals. 

 

As a Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product’s budget and financials, set the short- and long-term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). 

You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teamsYou will be responsible to elevate your collective team’s performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams. 

You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialtiesYou will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.  

It will be critical that you possess an understanding of retail or similar areas, relevant technologies and design principles in order to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target.

About you:  

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience 

  • 10+ years of product management experience, preferably in Transportation   

  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams 

  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally 

  • Expert at working in the agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas) 

  • Strategic mindset and bias for action with strong ability for strategic planning, defining OKRs and driving business outcomes 

  • Ability to lead and influence a team while fostering relationships across multiple enterprise-wide teams 

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
