We are searching for the best talent for PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ENGINEER

Purpose: To complete projects with suppliers to provide an uninterrupted flow of components for assembly operations that meet instrument, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Complete technical projects with suppliers to improve supplier process capacity, supplier process capability, supplier process maintainability, instrument assembly capability, and instrument output performance.

  • Determine tooling and spare requirements to maintain component supply.

  • Provide technical support for the approval/ validation of changes/ improvements in supplier processes.

  • Provide technical support for the resolution of component quality issues.

  • Potentially coordinate RMI/CAD/BOM actives.

  • Produce component cost comparisons and analyze alternative manufacturing methods for cost improvement projects (CIP’S).

  • Sustain supply chain continuity by qualifying and validating supplier tooling as per component approval procedures.

  • Ensures closure to component non-conformance issues with timely corrective action submission and approval of suppliers control plans.

  • Manages ETQ database for assigned NC’S and CAPA’S completes actions by due dates and provides periodic updates to management.

  • Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area.

  • Supports supplier evaluations for major services/products as needed.

  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.

  • Follow J&J and EES Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices, Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third-party vendor if applicable.

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow
    all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all
    resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Principal Component Engineer

  • Plans, directs, and conduct projects of major scope and significance to the Company with full technical responsibility for assignments. May contribute inventions, designs, or techniques, which are materially significant in the solution of important problems.

  • Mentors other professionals in their development of the behaviors outlined in the Standards of leadership.

  • Plans, directs and conducts projects of major scope and significance to the Company with full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • B.S. Engineering degree

  • Generally, requires (8-10) years related experience, or equivalent knowledge and skills, necessary to satisfactorily perform the position responsibilities.

  • Bilingual English/ Spanish.

  • Group integration, multifunctional tasking, and coordinates collaboration between. multiple functional groups.

  • Effective communication, oral, written and for presentations.

  • Project management, lead teams located in different areas while executing a. Project.

  • Technical competencies, preferred.
