Job Summary

The Program Coordinator, Information Systems Technology (IST) coordinates the program’s day-to-day operations and activities to support participating students and potential new students. This position assists in assessing program operational needs and resources and makes recommendations which initiate processes to direct program or function toward achievement of its objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


IST Student Support

  • Establishes standardized procedures for identifying, collecting, and reporting on relevant departmental student-related data. Organizes validation reviews; identifies, monitors, and reports on key indicators of program quality. Makes recommendations as necessary. Works with other departments to assist currently enrolled students, as needed.


IST Program Coordination  

  • Coordinates and administers curriculum for the IST program. Develops and maintains course curriculum depository for courses. Coordinates adjunct training, support and scheduling. Manages and assists in staffing course selections quarterly. Trains, supports, and communicates with adjunct and administrative staff for all sections throughout the quarter.
  • Evaluates new distance learning ideas and works with full-time faculty and Information Technology to evaluate the implementation of technology-related solutions.
  • Coordinates special events/projects. Coordinates with publishers and vendors for course and special event needs, including negotiating pricing, timing, and deliverables. Coordinates and facilitates annual department events and projects. Works as a liaison with other departments on all topics related to course curriculum and special events. Department liaison for distance learning as it integrates with tutoring, improved methodology, and curriculum.

Administrative

  • Manages and maintains current course information including master course inventory, electronic files/records of course outlines, reports and other documents related to programs; plans of study validations, articulations, and certifications.
  • Coordinates, completes, and prepares all documentation for the curriculum review process as it relates to assigned courses. Manages pre and post awards for grants the department receives including maintaining the compliance requirements and expenditures. Maintains confidentiality of student records and other information.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity while meeting federal, as well as internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners.
  • Attends all required department meetings and trainings.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in computer operation, training, and industry experience

Licenses and Certifications

  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices. Must travel to various Columbus State campuses and sites.
