Hillenbrand is looking for an IT Business Analyst (BA)/Project Manager (PM), with 5+ years of experience, to join our global Business Intelligence team. The role reports to the head of global business intelligence, and may be based in Coimbatore, India offices or remote.
The ideal candidate for this position is a problem solver and skilled at driving outcomes. As a Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational data & analytics challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify stakeholder requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your internal and external team to execute. Requires strong writing and communication skills and can build relationships with both their team members and business stakeholders.
The Business Analyst will apply his/her IT knowledge and business acumen to perform a variety of critical tasks to support the day-to-day operations of Hillenbrand’s global Business Intelligence Center of Excellence. You will closely work with business users in global functions, operating companies, IT peers and external partners. 
In addition to defining business requirements and working with technical teams to design appropriate solutions, typical duties and responsibilities for a Business Analyst position include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business needs and objectives and translate those needs into Business Requirements Document.
  • Gather information, document processes, and confirm the final requirements document with business users.
  • Manage and drive projects: develop project plans, monitor performance and course correct when needed.
  • Act as communications liaison between IT teams and business stakeholders.
  • Act as a change agent in the use of data to drive business insights and actions.
  • Collaboration with IT team members to find and document technological solutions to data and analytics requirements.
  • Develop process data flows and logic diagrams, in collaboration with team members.
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Develop and execute validation test scripts and plans, as well as production-based operational acceptance testing. Design and test report alerts and notifications.
  • Source and implement new data & analytics technology.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest data & analytics advancements to automate and modernize processes, systems and drive insights.
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  • Document and communicate the results of your efforts to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Allocate resources and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Manage competing resources and priorities.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • A history of leading and supporting successful projects.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and perform cost benefit analysis (buy vs. build, ROI)
  • Model business processes

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in computer science, information systems, business administration or equivalent from a college or university with IT focused specialization.
  • IIBA, IQBBA, IREB and PMI certifications a plus
  • Demonstrated pursuit of ongoing education, through course work, certifications, or other forms of learning.

Skills/Experience

  • 5+ years in a business analyst/program manager position, with at least one year focused on data & analytics solutions or a business intelligence practice.
  • 10+ years in a technology-driven role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking mindset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders through 1:1 meetings and group presentations.
  • Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills with ability to write detailed documentation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience in developing business intelligence use cases, and in deploying business intelligence applications.
  • Understanding of networks, databases and other technology
  • Familiarity with any programming languages (e.g. Java, AngularJS, Python).
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Travel

Employee must be able to travel up to 15 – 20%
