The Staff Strategy and Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for turning complex data into simplified, critical knowledge that can be used by leadership to make sound business decisions. This analyst will be responsible for driving the development and evolution of several suites of analytics for stakeholders. They will build an exceptional understanding of their businesses, relationships with key executive leadership stakeholders, and use their expert understanding of data architecture to lead the development of impactful analysis & uncover insights that will empower the long-term success of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Fulfill adhoc data requests for CX functional managers and other stakeholders within set deadlines and communicate out on progress & completion

  • Drive reporting requirement definition with key business stakeholders up front and set expectations for development timeline

  • Independently manage Tableau dashboard buildouts end to end

  • Launch & train key stakeholders on new reporting or completed analysis 

  • Architect and own suites of base data models, used by the community of analysts, which support organizational reporting standardization company-wide

  • Identify actionable insights or areas of improvement that are easily accessible to users across the organization

  • Lead initiatives with business & process management teams to improve organizational process using data

  • Lead initiatives with BI Tech team to implement & improve upon backend data processes, models, and tools  

  • Build an advanced understanding of Sunrun data sources and associated business processes in order to provide Subject Matter Expertise and advise leaders

  • Explore new resources/technical knowledge to expand the expertise of the team and leverage additional tools to provide in-depth analysis

  • Cultivate a reputation as a trusted point of contact for business stakeholders to turn to for knowledge and guidance

  • Contribute to and advise on overall team strategy

  • Advise and guide business leaders on the appropriate data and metrics to support Sunrun's goals

  • Work very closely with end users to drive adoption of products, gain understanding of data, & benchmark how well their needs are being met

  • Provide ongoing feedback to the technical team on how to improve the infrastructure/product suite in order to better meet all analysts needs

  • Demonstrate strong process/hygiene instincts

  • Mentor other analysts on best practices

  • Develop deep relationships with other key data influencers, and participate in the company's overall governance community


 

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical BI analyst role

  • Advanced understanding of data architecture & modeling tools (i.e. dbt)

  • Expert familiarity with SQL, Excel/Gsheets, modeling & macros, Google apps, CRM Software, BI Tools/Data visualization platforms (i.e. Data Studio, Tableau, Looker, etc.)

  • Additional coding skills highly desirable (i.e. R, Python)

  • Ability to influence others including executive stakeholders, business leaders, other data team members to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to actions that support business initiatives

  • Strong understanding of business needs and ability to translate into data and IT requirements with minimal guidance

  • Able to present complex information in an easy to understand and actionable format for the business

  • Ability to define and organize tasks, conduct prioritization with stakeholders, and deliver in a timely fashion

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and assist other team members in ensuring their work is completed

  • Ability to develop framework for requirements gathering and metrics definition workshops with business stakeholders and facilitate workshops that help define key objectives

  • A strong understanding of data governance best practices

  • The desire and ability to closely integrate with other analysts

  • Ability to guide and advise business stakeholders on defining appropriate metric definitions and key objectives

  • Ability to drive projects to completion; meet stakeholder needs while maintaining a data-driven, analytical foundation

  • Ability to tie impact to any project and communicate out at Executive level on project value, architecture, and results

  • Detail Oriented, Adaptable, Curious, Resilient, Positive, Human-Centered, Analytical Aptitude

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to perform normal office duties

  • Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work

  • Ability to interact and participate in meetings

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$103,221.56 to $137,628.75

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
