As a Senior Operations Relationship Manager, you will be tasked with establishing, developing, and maintaining senior executive-level operational relationships with top intermediary customers. You will represent American Funds to ensure effective operational trading and resolve issues. You will have primary ownership of the operational relationships for a defined set of firms. Additionally, you will leverage, build, and maintain strong business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to alleviate operational barriers that may hinder our primary business objectives with these firms.

  • You possess a comprehensive background and deep understanding of the mutual fund industry, covering investment, distribution, and operations aspects.

  • You demonstrate knowledge of current and potential future internal and external policies, practices, trends, technology, and information that impact the department, business area, and the organization as a whole.

  • You are a strong communicator and collaborator with a proven ability to influence across various levels, including senior leadership.

  • You handle negotiations with ease and can confidently voice unpopular opinions.

  • You excel at building relationships, working closely with business partners to understand their needs, influence recommendations, and drive solutions. You achieve this by fostering and maintaining positive and effective relationships.

  • You have a proven track record of thinking creatively and providing strategic guidance. You understand how to develop, navigate, and leverage internal relationships to drive business strategy and accountability to achieve desired outcomes.

  • You are naturally service-oriented, have high learning agility, and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Indianapolis Base Salary Range: $157,589-$267,901

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
