Job Description Summary

The Operations Leader – 1st Shift PDO is responsible for planning and executing safe, efficient warehouse and material flow operations that support manufacturing requirements. This role oversees receiving, storage, picking, and delivery of materials while maintaining accurate inventory and strong EHS compliance. The Operations Leader drives continuous improvement across product lines by owning project timelines, improving cycle time and cost, and resolving technical and process issues. This position leads and collaborates with manufacturing and cross‑functional teams to meet EHS, production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives within schedule and budget.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Refine, standardize, and execute warehouse processes to ensure timely and accurate material flow from the warehouse to the production line.
  • Partner with production and cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Own inventory control activities within the warehouse, including execution of daily cycle counts and monitoring accurate SAP transactions.
  • Monitor and support eAndon and pitch tracker part requests to ensure materials are delivered to the shop as needed.
  • Support Machine Repair by managing the pull, storage, and put‑away of maintenance materials.
  • Coordinate local trucking schedules for vendor pickups, deliveries, and material movement to and from the shop.
  • Own safety performance within the warehouse, including safety reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring all hourly employees are current on required training and certifications.
  • Monitor warehouse equipment condition, maintenance needs, and availability.
  • Provide direct people leadership, including staffing, performance management, coaching, and development of hourly employees.
  • Guide and support hourly employees through process changes while modeling GE behaviors and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Apply knowledge of best practices and understand how warehouse operations integrate with upstream and downstream processes.
  • Use judgment, technical experience, and analytical thinking to propose solutions to operational challenges, leveraging internal and limited external resources as appropriate.
  • Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk improvement projects. Clearly communicate expectations, facilitate alignment, and address sensitive issues when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, or materials management.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in warehousing, materials, or operations roles.

  • Ability to document, plan, and execute operational and improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and basic project management tools.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
