Technical Lead

Your Role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Technical Lead to join the Windchill development team. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, hands-on development, and delivering high-quality software. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment alongside an experienced team to build world-class features for PTC’s flagship PLM product, Windchill.

This role demands strong technical leadership, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to guide the team through design, development, performance optimization, and continuous improvement. The candidate must possess expertise in Java/J2EE, modern frameworks, and best practices in software engineering.

Your Day-to-Day

• Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills and innovation.
• Design software modules and prepare design documents following team standards.
• Develop high‑quality, well‑documented code with automated tests.
• Deliver high-performance, scalable, and maintainable components.
• Identify and resolve performance/scalability bottlenecks.
• Participate in and conduct peer code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Interact with cross‑functional teams, Development, QA, TPMs, and PMs.
• Prepare accurate effort estimates for assigned tasks and projects.
• Develop prototypes to validate concepts.
• Participate in design reviews and architectural discussions.
• Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks as per schedule.
• Execute and deliver comprehensive unit tests and automated test suites.
• Resolve software defects, including evaluation, bug fixing, workarounds, and unit testing.
• Provide timely information needed by QA for effective testing.
• Share technical knowledge with the team and wider organization.
• Address and resolve reported defects (SPRs) according to organizational guidelines.
• Continuously upgrade skills related to technology, product, and processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
• 4–7 years of hands‑on programming experience in Java/J2EE with strong OOAD knowledge.
• Experience or knowledge of microservice architectures or distributed systems based in Azure is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, with strong judgment and ownership.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Resourceful, proactive, and able to adapt in dynamic environments.
• Demonstrated success in enterprise or product software development.
• Ability to write optimal, complex SQL queries in Oracle/SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Python, and Azure Cloud platform is a plus
