The Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Brain Imaging seeks to appoint a one-year Post Doctoral Scholar with strong training in biomedical engineering and imaging science who is interested in developing expertise in brain imaging and neuroimaging research. This position is intended as a structured, mentored training appointment for a candidate with prior experience in imaging to further their skills in brain imaging

The Post Doctoral Scholar will work closely with CCBBI faculty, staff, and collaborators to learn foundational and applied methods in brain imaging, including MRI/fMRI principles, neuroimaging study design, preprocessing and analysis pipelines, quality control, visualization of brain imaging data, and interpretation of neuroimaging findings. The schglar will contribute to selected CCBBI research activities while developing a focused mentored research project aligned with the center’s mission.

Required Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, or a related field

  • At least two years of postdoctoral experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Thorough familiarity with programming and analysis in MATLAB and/or Python.

  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) for human neuroscience research.

  • Experience with GitHub/GitLab repositories and collaborative coding practices.

  • Background in teaching or training researchers in neuroimaging acquisition, processing, and analysis.

  • Experience assisting in grant writing and securing external funding.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
