Manager I - Learning and Development

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of an Elevance Health PulsePoint location. Locations include - ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, 370-774 NORTHLAKE BLVD, INDIANAPOLIS, 220 VIRGINIA AVE, ST LOUIS, 1831 CHESTNUT ST

The Manager I - Learning and Development is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of high-quality performance solutions to the company and/or specific clients.

How you will make an impact:

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages a team of Learning & Development associates responsible for the design and development of training programs and other learning solutions to meet business needs and objectives.
  • Consults with business owners to understand strategic objectives.
  • Oversees the consistent practice of performance consulting with the business to identify the root causes of performance gaps.
  • Oversees the design and development of learning outlines, programs, instructional materials, and job aids and SOPs.
  • Ensures courses and other educational information support the overall business objectives.
  • Oversees the utilization of performance consulting skills in the development of training materials for associates.
  • May conduct training sessions for clients or Learning & Development associates.
  • Oversees the implementation of effective training feedback mechanisms to improve training programs and to assess the impact of the investment made in training.
  • Partners with the Director to develop and implement market or business segment training strategy that aligns with the departmental/enterprise Learning & Development strategy.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires BA/BS degree in education, communication, business management, organizational effectiveness or related field and minimum of 4 years management and/or leadership experience and minimum of 5 years training experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Prior experience in writing and overseeing the design of learning solutions for an organization.
