Team Overview
The RADAR ALPS team is a global function, created to provide senior management with operational business intelligence on performance, exposure, and productivity across all product groups within O & T. The ALPS Project team is responsible for procuring internal trade data to mitigate internal trader fraud risks as well as the highlighting and reporting of high-risk exceptions in order to be transparent on high-risk trades. Partners and stakeholders include the front office, middle office, settlements, and operations risk management .
Candidate requirements:
The ALPS team is looking for a solid multi-faceted business analyst who can apply themselves to a wide range of tasks and projects at any one time. Candidate will need to bring a willingness to learn a broad range of Capital Markets/Operations and Middle Office knowledge and skills but also garner a ‘roll up your sleeves attitude’ to ensure delivery of team’s end product. There will be a requirement to own and deliver the onboarding/migration of systems from Operations/Settlement/Confirmation platforms as appropriate. Close partnership with technology will be required to translate business requirements based on stakeholder requests. Mid-level project management governance to track projects globally is required, as well as provide status updates to Senior Management. In addition, the role will comprise of providing support to the end users of our reporting suite and facing off to senior levels within our client base.
Tasks Include (but are not solely confined to):
• Responsible for owning and contributing to Change the Bank (CTB) activities throughout all phases of the project lifecycle e.g. Requirements Specification, UAT Testing and Sign Off, Rollout and Post Production Checkouts.
• Requirements Specification: gather, understand, define, review, and enhance global business requirement and feed specification Documents and tailor to meet the needs of the enhancement, migration, or system onboarding. Act as liaison between Technology and Business Stakeholders.
• Define business rules (when required) to enrich, transform, and normalize data across multiple systems and assign data ownership.
• Working knowledge of relational databases (tables, datatypes, joins) and experience of manipulating and working with large datasets is essential.
• UAT Testing: Develop and execute UAT test plans that will ensure business requirements have been met / create test scripts including specific test cases and expected results
• UAT Sign off: Manage and collaborate with users at various levels within Business to take them through the UAT testing process and successfully obtain sign off during the UAT phase
• Rollout and postproduction checkouts: Act as point of contact for Technology partners and contribute to project rollout and postproduction checkouts to ensure successful project closure
• Develop SME (Subject Matter Expert) level knowledge of ALPS Open Trades (unconfirmed/unaffirmed) reporting and workflow platforms to share knowledge, provide training, and assist to end users.
• Identify areas of inefficiency (including new controls) and implement system and process improvements in the spirit of continuous improvement. • Understanding and utilize standard processes, design, and testing tools throughout project development life cycle
• Face-off with Middle Office, Operations, IT, Internal Audit, Operational Risk from Mid-level to a senior level as a representative of the RADAR organization.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with exquisite attention to detail in order to facilitate decision making.
• Effectively lead meetings with managers and subject matter experts to define new and/or review existing business rules impacting the Open Trades Reporting (Unconfirmed/Unaffirmed activity) and gather overall feedback
• Ensure deliverables are being met on a timely basis
• Prepare/Update project deliverables, including status reports, issues/risk logs and project plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong Business Analyst with relevant experience in Banking Operations and/or Middle/Back Office. Project management experience minimum of 3 years ideally within the Market Operations realm supporting key initiatives with exposure to operational risk and controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of Markets products (Cash Securities, Fixed Income, Money Market, Commodities, Derivatives and Loans).
• Well versed in the business requirements gathering process
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including use of Logical, Data and Text functions in order to manipulate and analyze large datasets
• Clear understanding of the trade life cycle is a plus
• Understanding of reference data and management is highly desirable
• Experience with MSTR reporting
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build consensus. History of success working in a team environment. • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
• Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and take ownership of various parts of the project
• Working knowledge of JIRA
• QlikView and/or Tableau - knowledge advantageous
• Experience writing SQL queries a plus
• Effective use of Word and PowerPoint to create succinct project documentation and senior management presentations.
• Availability to work EMEA hours
