About the job
As Retail Director Outlets Europe, you'll take the lead in driving the strategic direction, operational excellence and profitable growth of Levi Strauss’s outlet business across the region. You’ll oversee key European functions including outlet marketing activations and visual merchandising, while also guiding a wider network of district managers through dotted-line leadership. Reporting to the VP Retail Europe, your role will ensure our outlet strategy is aligned with brand positioning, financial goals and cross-functional priorities, all with the aim of elevating the consumer experience and accelerating growth across our European outlet stores.
What you’ll be doing
Own and lead the outlet channel strategy and execution for Levi Strauss across Europe
Oversee Marketing Activation Specialists, the Head of Visual Merchandising, and key functional support teams
Drive P&L ownership and deliver strong financial performance across European outlets
Collaborate with merchandising, planning, store operations, HR, and finance to align on seasonal and long-term plans
Ensure outlet-specific brand integrity through consistent visual merchandising, marketing execution, and customer engagement strategies
Champion consumer-first thinking while optimizing channel economics and operational excellence
Lead change management initiatives focused on evolving store formats, digital integration, and omnichannel readiness
Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team with clear succession planning
Act as a key stakeholder in strategic initiatives including new outlet openings, relocations, and remodels
Foster a culture of agility and responsiveness to drive accelerated business growth and store profitability
Build strong communication channels with key business partners across European markets
About you
Work experience
You bring 10+ years of progressive experience in retail leadership, with significant exposure to outlet formats
You’ve successfully led multi-country operations within a matrixed organisation
You have a proven track record of owning P&Ls and consistently delivering strong financial results
You’ve managed both direct and dotted-line teams in complex, cross-functional environments
You have broad experience across retail merchandising, planning, operations, marketing, visual merchandising and consumer engagement
Education
You have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is a strong plus
Leadership style and functional expertise
You’re a strategic, commercially minded leader with a strong drive for action and a collaborative approach.
You lead with empathy and a coaching style, developing high-performing, culturally agile teams. Resilient and decisive, you thrive in complexity and are passionate about delivering seamless, consumer-first experiences.
You bring deep knowledge of retail operations and outlet-specific dynamics, backed by strong financial acumen and performance management skills.
You're experienced in managing large-scale budgets, navigating European market nuances, and leading retail transformation, omnichannel integration and store optimization.
You’re also a confident communicator, fluent in English (written and spoken), and skilled at engaging stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
Location & travel
You’ll be located at our new Brussels Head Office
This role requires approximately 60% travel
The expected starting salary range for this role is € 104,300.00 - € 139,000.00 per year. The amount a employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance and our needs.
