Organizational Impact

  • Leads a platform or multiple business units or multiple key job family groups of the organization
  • Establishes, implements and supports mid- to long-term strategies and plans (3-5 years) for area of responsibility with significant impact to the organization
  • Accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategic plans, programs, projects, or systems that help set major goals of the organization
  • Responsible for significant revenue and/or expenditures in one or more significant area of operations with minimal oversight

Communication & Influence

  • Communicates regularly with the CEO, executives, members of the Board, and/or other major contacts
  • Requires the ability to negotiate and compromise to influence internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the organization
  • Requires ability to communicate with and frequently conducts briefings to departmental/organizational leadership
  • Conveys strategic goals and influences the strategic vision of the platform
  • Represents platform or multiple business units or multiple key job family groups on matters of significance with the public

Innovation & Complexity

  • Drives improvements upon entire processes or systems that may improve the competitive position of the organization
  • Problems faced are frequently complex and sometimes multi-dimensional (i.e., operational, human, and financial), requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact multiple areas of the organization

Knowledge & Experience

  • Requires advanced business knowledge, management and leadership capability to lead teams across the organization
  • Typically has broader practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and Nidec’s business practices
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certification and 18 years of prior relevant experience
