The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformers- Business Solutions IT Organization is seeking an (Global or HUB) Application Specialist who will provide overall support to the (Global or HUB) BST IT team to drive value and business growth to the business.

Job Role Overview:

As Application Specialist you apply strong application technology knowledge and expertise to any application activity within all IT process domains. You are strongly involved in all operational activities and contribute to various areas, from solution design, through testing, deployment, configuration and development to users' training. 

Role could include configuration and development where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our application customization processes. Your responsibilities encompass both configuration governance and master data management.

How you’ll make an impact

• Identify, propose, advise and implement existing IT application technology and IT solutions/services, sharing knowledge and –depending on seniority - guiding others on implementation and operation, using understanding of existing IT application technology and business requirements. 

• Involved in the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of IT solutions/services where application knowledge is needed. 

• Application and software design, in order to provide product solutions for specific business needs 

• Manage/ support the entire process of building applications, from the design process, to creating, testing and rolling out the application

• Design a product solution in line with specifications given by Solution Architect, Application Manager and business users

• Implement application and provide support services for users

• Provide trainings for business users

Your background

• 7 years of experience in IT Applications Management and Service Delivery in multinational companies

• Experience and ability to work with virtual delivery teams as well as distributed stakeholders

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or business management

• Experience in one or more coding languages (e.g. Javascript, C++, Python, Java. Specify the languages relevant to the role)

• Tools and Methodologies of this role: ITIL 4 Preferred and L6S Lean 6 Sigma Certified

• Experience with development platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Salesforce, Pega, Docker, Kubernetes. Specify the languages relevant to the role) 

• Experience with functional domain where the application belongs to. (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Sales & Marketing. Specify the languages relevant to the role) 

• Understanding of software development lifecycles

• Strong ability to understand context for code, the codebase, and its relation to business objectives.

• Exceptional analytical abilities for navigating intricate data structures.

• Demonstrated excellence in project management
