Job Description:

At Regions, the Divisional Chief Information Officer – Enterprise Technologies is a critical executive leadership role responsible for building and operating Regions’ enterprise-wide data, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and workflow technology ecosystem. This leader defines and executes a modern, cloud-enabled platform strategy spanning data, enterprise application programming interfaces (APIs), AI/GenAI, robotic process automation (RPA), intelligent automation, workflow, and imaging. This role is accountable for delivering scalable, secure, and compliant enterprise capabilities that enable business transformation, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Defines and leads enterprise technology strategy across data platforms, artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, automation, and workflow.
  • Builds and operates highly scalable data ecosystems including data lake, data and event streaming, and application programming interface (API)-driven architectures
  • Owns enterprise AI, machine learning (ML) and GenAI platforms including machine learning operations, and large language model (LLM) enablement platforms
  • Drives enterprise automation through robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligent workflow orchestration
  • Leads imaging and content platforms enabling end-to-end digitization of business processes
  • Ensures regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and data privacy across all platforms
  • Drives engineering excellence, platform resiliency, and cost optimization
  • Leads teams across data engineering, platform engineering, automation, and enterprise applications
  • Partners with Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) leadership to align platform capabilities with business-driven use cases
  • Establishes a product-centric operating model across platform engineering teams, aligning technology delivery with measurable business outcomes
  • Drives platform adoption and reuse across business domains, increasing standardization and reducing duplication
  • Automates manual processes, improving efficiency, reducing errors, and enabling scalable operations
  • Enhances system reliability and performance, delivering improved uptime, scalability, and user experience
  • Enables rapid deployment of AI and data use cases, accelerating innovation and time-to-value
  • Optimizes infrastructure costs, improving financial efficiency through smarter resource utilization
  • Supports revenue growth and operational KPIs by improving speed, quality, and consistency of technology delivery
  • Champions a culture of risk ownership and accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement within the TODD teams to encourage associates to approach situations with a compliance and operational excellence mindset 
  • Establishes and oversees partnerships across TODD to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. 

This position is incentive eligible.

This is a single incumbent position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive technology leadership in financial services or regulated industries
  • Proven experience building enterprise-scale data, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation platforms
  • Track record of leading large, complex engineering organizations

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Median:

$443,184.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
