Under close supervision, this positions is responsible for welding J.B. Hunt containers/trailers and other equipment to technical specifications. This role involves welding in various positions and maintaining equipment in optimal conditional. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly
• Examine components for defects and measure components to ensure specifications are met
• Perform welding tasks to join metal parts according to blueprints and technical drawings
• Inspect welded surfaces and structure for durability and precision, using appropriate measurement tools
• Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure functionality, perform minor repairs as needed
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age and completed an accredited welding program OR completed a Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) course OR 1 year of welding experience.
Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences.
Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
