Cleveland Clinic’s Department of General Surgery performs a variety of procedures including, but not limited to, appendectomy, biopsy, breast surgery, CAPP catheter placement, cholecystectomy, esophagogastric fundoplasty, laparoscopic surgery, hernia repair and lipoma excision. As a Surgical Technician, you will help circulate duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. These duties include but are not limited to:
Setting up the sterile table and performing scrub functions.
Assisting in draping the patient as well as gowning and gloving surgical team members.
Collecting, identifying, and labeling specimens removed during surgical procedures and giving the specimens to circulator for disposition.
Demonstrating a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the workplace.

Education:
If hired prior to August 1, 2015 completion of a Surgical Technology Program required or Licensed Practical Nurse required. If hired August 1, 2015 or later, Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES required. Completion of military surgical technology program will meet the requirements of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
