SUMMARY

As Allegro Microsystems Packaging Engineer- Global New Product Introduction you will develop strategies and workflows to enhance and directly support corporate Project Management of I.C Package Engineering Projects during NPI phase.

Create and drive NPI Packaging Projects from (design start) through to (production safe launch) as per agreed timescales.

You will share responsibility for promoting a positive, on-brand, public image of our company. This position reports to the Director/Manager of Global New Product Introduction AML.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate project timelines / plans for Packaging NPI Projects as required in Smartsheets.
  • Efficient project management execution within given timescales:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, test, Business units and quality assurance/reliability to optimize packaging solutions efficient, sustainable, cost-effective, and meet project timelines.
  • Close and frequent communication within stakeholders to ensure tasks / deliverables are tracked and updated & Technical Lessons learned are shared for adoption elsewhere as required.
  • On Time completion of Packaging Eng. NPI Projects related deliverables (Design, Simulation, Documentation, Tooling).
  • Attendance of Project Core Team Meetings with involved project members and departments providing detailed and accurate project updates and technical assistance when required.
  • Ensure the completion of Process Characterization / Tooling buy-off and processing of Eng Samples to ensure 1st Samples are provided on time & provide technical assistance to others when issues are encountered.
  • Completion of Package Qualification lots & endorsed to Allegro Quality & Reliability Team.
  • Pragmatism and flexibility during project execution to accommodate delays / changes that may occur.
  • Drive the resolution of issues that arise during the NPI phase.
  • Proactively drive communication within the I.C Packaging Team for any technical related clarifications and questions received and take responsibility for ensuring that all issues are resolved.
  • Drive related Supplier conf calls for project reviews as required.
  • Detailed and accurate weekly reporting to Line Manager for related projects.
  • Conduct formal Handover of NPI Projects to the Allegro Packaging Sustaining Team for Safe Launch.
  • Travel to visit Suppliers as and when required by the Business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Interact with Suppliers & Allegro core-teams to generate accurate (and ambitious) project plans. Ensure technical & timely execution of these plans.
  • Provide accurate and frequent project activity updates / reporting during Core team meetings.
  • Open communication and good teamworking within I.C Package Eng. and other Allegro departments.
  • Deliver designs, tooling, engineering Samples, Qual Lots to Business units / QA and Customer expectations.
  • Manage f key customers with status updates and manage their expectations
  • Lead in resolving project issues, providing regular updates to the core team as well as executive summaries for senior management.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in packaging design, manufacturing, and development.
  • Proven knowledge/ experience of packaging technology, materials, and design principles with focus on designing and implementing packaging solutions.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor production equipment and manufacturing processes and understanding of sustainability and environmental issues related to packaging
