This is a high-impact, mid-senior-level analytics role for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of data, operations, and strategy. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will design and deliver advanced analytical solutions that drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer experience. You'll work with significant autonomy, influence decisions at the leadership level, and play a defining role in shaping how the business uses data to move forward. The IC SME will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing analytical solutions that provide actionable insights to operations teams, enabling them to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and proactively address potential challenges. This includes deep-dive analysis of operational data, development of predictive models, and creation of impactful analytical recommendation and compelling story for Operation business. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Your insights will influence outcomes at scale — across geographies, functions, and leadership levels — making you a critical driver of operational performance and business resilience. The quality of your work sets the standard for the entire team and has a measurable effect on the organization's ability to operate efficiently, manage risk, and deliver for its clients.
Responsibilities:
Operational Trend & Risk Analytics: Mine and analyze operational metrics, audit trail data, and external events to identify emerging trends, themes, and risk signals. Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable communications that drive timely business responses and risk mitigation.
Dashboard & KPI Development: Design, build, and maintain operational dashboards, scorecards, and KPI frameworks that provide real-time visibility into process health, efficiency, and control effectiveness for operations leadership.
Root Cause & Deep-Dive Analysis: Lead rigorous root cause analyses on operational failures, inefficiencies, and control gaps — synthesizing findings from multiple data sources into compelling, insight-driven narratives for senior stakeholders.
Process Optimization Analytics: Identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost reduction through advanced data analysis. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions — including automation and AI-driven tools — to achieve straight-through processing and workflow efficiency.
Data Exploration & Engineering: Navigate and synthesize data from multiple, disparate platforms across the organization (DWH, EAP, SQL Server) to build a unified, reliable analytical foundation. Extract, transform, and analyze large-scale datasets using SQL, Python, PySpark, and SAS.
Reporting Pipeline Collaboration: Partner with technology and data engineering teams to design, improve, and automate reporting pipelines — enabling scalable, self-serve analytics across operations teams.
Analytical Storytelling & Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and visually compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiences. Present recommendations to senior leaders and business partners to gain alignment and drive action.
Technical Leadership, Analytics & Delivery: Act as the SME in operations analytics — mentoring teams, driving AI/ML use cases (risk scoring, anomaly detection, automation), and deploying predictive models and forecasting frameworks. Manage projects end-to-end with disciplined governance through JIRA.
Governance, Risk & Compliance: Safeguard data integrity, support regional risk assessment reviews, and close policy gaps. Proactively escalate control gap insights and risk trends to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience in analytics, business performance, or a related field (with a Bachelor's degree), or 5–8 years with a Master's degree.
Proven expertise in advanced analytics — including trend analysis, and data interpretation.
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as SQL, Python, PySpark, or SAS, with hands-on experience across enterprise data platforms (e.g., DWH, EAP, SQL Server, Oracle).
Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML methodologies to real-world operational or business problems.
Deep knowledge of the banking domain — including banking products, operations, and the financial services landscape.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills — you can distill complex data into clear, persuasive narratives for executive audiences.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building trust and influencing decisions across business, technology, and risk functions.
Solid project management capabilities — you manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain governance standards.
A self-starter mindset — you operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of outcomes without waiting to be directed.
Experience leading and developing teams, including coaching junior analysts and driving a high-performance culture is a plus.
