What You Will Do:

Work with an agile, fast paced team focused on defending our client’s global networks through threat hunting and tactical analysis of ongoing attacks. In this role, you be challenged to dig into various platforms to discover data anomalies. This person should have a wide of range knowledge and skills, such as computer forensics/mobile device forensics, data recovery, reverse engineering intrusion analysis and methodologies, intelligence analysis, and vulnerability assessments. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly visible projects that directly make an impact to the Nations mission. Work as a critical component in taking complex problems and delivering solutions that are simple yet elegant. You will be a motivated, pioneering contributor with the ability to drive our long-term strategic goals with daily tactical objectives. You will partner with and conduct briefings across the organization and mission partners in support of technical analysis and operational goals. Other duties include:

  • Developing network maps

  • Identify potential network paths

  • Leverage knowledge, capabilities and accesses to identify opportunities for client and assist to inform decisions

  • Conduct network analysis

  • Solve cyber problems through data-driven analytics and development

  • Identify and develop methodologies to advance mission

  • Document analysis and code in accordance with industry and client’s best practices

  • Leverage applications and scripting capabilities, proprietary tools, and databases to conduct research

  • Partner with and conduct briefings across the organization and mission partners

What You Will Bring:  

  • 5+ years of cyber security and information security practices and demonstrated proficiency securing complex environments 

  • Active TS/SCI with required polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific or technical discipline. Master’s degree is desirable

  • Working knowledge of cyber operations

  • Network engineering and analysis skills:

    • Understanding of TCP/IP packet analysis using GUI and command-line tools

    •  Ability to create logical network diagrams from various, often incomplete, data sources such as network device configurations, endpoint survey data, and other collected information)

    •  Deep expertise of TCP/IP routing

    • Ability to conduct network forensics and internet traffic characterization

    • Knowledge of analytic tools (link analysis, data integration)

    • Demonstrated experience employing visualization tools to display network graphs, workflows using COTS products or custom scripts

  • Scripting (e.g., python, bash, Spark)

  • Manipulating and parsing files of various structured and unstructured formats and extracting relevant technical data

  • Comfortable with Windows and Linux command line tools (PowerShell, bash, etc.)

  • Knowledge of IT defensive best practices

  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to think strategically

  • Ability to effectively express complex ideas and insights verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to pay attention to details, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data

  • Ability to remain open-minded and change opinions on the basis of new information and requirements

  • Ability to conduct briefings at varying levels of leadership

  • Must be a team player; be able to work in a high-impact, busy office; and work well in an open, collaborative environment

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people in mission critical environment

  • A natural collaborator who shares knowledge base with the team to leverage synergies

  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver

  • Can handle working multiple projects at once, with minimal guidance

  • Previous cyber/network experience

  • Experience with client technical tools

  • Demonstrated experience developing and automating data ingestion, parsing and analysis of large data sets

  • Experience with Data Analytics and Machine Learning techniques using programing languages such as Python, Spark, SQL etc.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$85,800 - $180,200
