The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist will directly support the execution and development of marketing materials that engage agent/broker partners and insurance decision makers that align with business objectives. This role will primarily focus on marketing for Financial Lines coverages including but not limited to Management Liability, Professional Liability and Cyber Liability. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the development of marketing materials and execution of targeted marketing campaigns across various Global Specialty business units, in partnership with the Director of Global Specialty Marketing & Communications, as well as large-scale distribution partner events and sponsorships in support of Global Specialty’s organizational growth.
Marketing responsibilities may include but are not limited to writing and editing content for a variety of distribution channels (flyers, digital, email, web, social media, internal announcements, media/PR supporting material, presentation materials), developing marketing strategies that support sales efforts across commercial lines, and executing marketing tactics to help drive growth and support business strategy. This role partners across the marketing and communications organization as well as with digital stakeholders, service partners, business leaders and subject matter experts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner closely with the Global Specialty and Middle and Large Commercial marketing/internal communications team and stakeholders in Global Specialty to execute marketing initiatives that engage our agent and broker audiences.
Create engaging content and marketing collateral that promotes product offerings and differentiates The Hartford in the marketplace.
Coordinate and collaborate across various functional areas including HR, underwriting, IT, operations, sales & distribution, marketing, compliance/legal and strategy
Evaluate agent/customer insights in partnership with research team and business leaders to identify areas of opportunity to help drive business goals forward.
Write and edit content for various external marketing vehicles including online, social, media, print/PDF, and email.
Be a champion on customer experience, engaging with key stakeholders to partner on strategy and implementation.
Take initiative to learn and understand the business and specialty market to inform recommendations and decision making.
Coordinate approvals across multiple teams including brand, marketing, legal/compliance, and business/service partners.
Support Director of Marketing/Communications with external broker marketing (e.g. messaging, presentations, development of marketing collateral) for lines of business within Global Specialty.
Other marketing or communications project work, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years marketing, communications, media relations, or similar experience
Demonstrated ability to understand critical business objectives and develop marketing collateral to effectively address those objectives.
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Expertise in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and experience with Excel.
Strong writing skills: experience writing internal and/or external facing newsletter content with the ability to modify content voice to targeted audiences. Ability to write an effective creative brief.
Ability to travel for various business leadership/strategy meetings 2-3 times a year.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
