Product
We are building a secure, compliant, and highly reliable healthcare data platform that transports and transforms clinical and operational data from hospital on‑premises environments to the cloud. As a Sr. Staff Technical Product Owner, you will own the product vision, roadmap, and outcomes for end‑to‑end data movement, interoperability, and governance—working across global product managers in multiple healthcare sub‑segments to deliver interoperable, scalable, and cost‑efficient data capabilities.
What you’ll do (Key Responsibilities)
Own vision & roadmap
Translate organizational strategy into a platform‑level multi‑release roadmap with clear value milestones and measurable outcomes.
Continuously capture Voice of Customer (VoC) from catching programs and adjust prioritization and scope to maximize impact.
Backlog leadership
Author and maintain Epics, Features, and User Stories with acceptance criteria; ensure traceability to business outcomes and regulatory/compliance needs.
Lead backlog grooming, PI planning, and cross‑program dependency management (SAFe or equivalent).
Bridge product & engineering
Act as the primary interface between global product managers and engineering leads, ensuring scope clarity, non‑functional requirements (performance, reliability, security), and delivery quality.
Drive design‑to‑value decisions across ingestion, streaming, API exposure, and data storage layers in future.
Healthcare interoperability & data standards
Define patterns for HL7 v2.x, FHIR - Mapping/translation
Guide implementation choices for integration engines (e.g., Mirth/NextGen Connect, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody) and schema governance.
Secure & compliant data movement (on‑prem → cloud)
Own product requirements for connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Site‑to‑Site VPN, SD‑WAN, private links), data in motion (TLS 1.2/1.3, mTLS, certificate rotation), and data at rest (KMS/HSM encryption, key rotation).
Define AuthN/AuthZ strategies (OIDC/OAuth2, SAML, RBAC/ABAC, least privilege) and secrets management.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and regional privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).
Streaming & data platform architecture
Shape the streaming roadmap using Kafka (brokers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, schema registry, Avro/Protobuf), Kafka Connect, and CDC pipelines or any similar technology
Partner with architects on scalable ingestion, schema evolution, replay, dead‑letter handling, and observability (OpenTelemetry, metrics, tracing, logs).
AWS platform delivery
Define requirements and guardrails for AWS services such as S3, MSK (or self‑managed Kafka), Glue, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, PrivateLink, CloudWatch, KMS, Secrets Manager.
Drive reliability goals (SLOs/SLAs, RTO/RPO), disaster recovery patterns, and multi‑account/multi‑region design as needed.
Cloud cost optimization (FinOps)
Lead cost‑to‑serve modeling and reduction initiatives: right‑sizing, instance families compression/partitioning, autoscaling, and data egress minimization.
Establish cost dashboards, budgets, and per‑feature cost accountability.
Cybersecurity & privacy
Stay current with cybersecurity best practices (zero‑trust, network segmentation, vulnerability management, threat modelling, security testing, SBOM where applicable).
Champion privacy‑by‑design, data minimization, de‑identification/pseudonymization where appropriate.
What you’ll bring (Required Qualifications)
Experience: 12–15+ years in product management/ownership or platform leadership, with 5+ years focused on data platforms/streaming and 3+ years in healthcare data interoperability.
Deep technical fluency in:
Streaming with Kafka (clusters, partitioning strategy, throughput/latency tuning, schema registry).
Data security: encryption at rest/in transit, AuthN/AuthZ (OIDC/OAuth2/SAML), RBAC/ABAC, secrets management.
AWS core data & networking services; secure connectivity from on‑prem to cloud (Direct Connect, VPN, private connectivity).
Cybersecurity controls and compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare (HIPAA/HITRUST/SOC 2).
Healthcare standards: hands‑on with HL7 v2, FHIR
Roadmap & execution: proven track record translating vision into incremental deliveries; ownership of Epics/Features/Stories and measurable outcomes.
Cross‑functional leadership: success aligning multiple global product managers and engineering teams in a highly dynamic environment.
Cloud cost reduction: demonstrable wins lowering run‑rate and egress costs, optimizing storage/compute, and implementing FinOps practices.
Communication: excellent written/verbal skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and vice‑versa.
Hands on experience in Product Management using Gen AI tooling
Nice to have (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with integration engines (e.g., Mirth/NextGen Connect, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody), and EMR/vendor ecosystems (Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
Knowledge of data governance & cataloguing (e.g., AWS Lake Formation, Glue Data Catalog), lineage, DQ frameworks, and PHI/PII handling patterns.
Familiarity with event‑driven and API‑first architectures (REST/gRPC), Idempotency, Exactly‑once/At‑least‑once semantics.
Observability tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk,Promethesu, Graffana) and SRE practices (error budgets, SLOs).
