WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As Director, Footwear Manufacturing Engineering on the Nike Footwear Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering team, you are part of a global team committed to delivering excellence to our product teams and to consumers every day. 

This role will be a key member of both the Nike Footwear Manufacturing Engineering and Partner Management Office leadership teams. You will lead a team of Engineers in the Nike Partner Management Office in Busan, South Korea and work closely with stakeholders across the enterprise - Product Creation, Innovation, Sourcing, Manufacturing Systems Engineering and our Manufacturing Partners driving manufacturing and product excellence strategic initiatives across our manufacturing network. 

This role reports into the Senior Director, Footwear Manufacturing Engineering who is based in Singapore and has an indirect reporting to the Senior Director, GM Partner Management Nike Partner Management Office in Busan, South Korea.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Director, Footwear Manufacturing Engineering to lead our Footwear Manufacturing Engineering team in Busan, South Korea. The successful candidate should be an experienced leader who will bring manufacturing experience, strategic mindset and people leadership skills to lead a dynamic, diverse and experienced team of Footwear Engineers. The candidate should be able to travel 10-20% of the time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • 9+ years relevant experience with knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing operations, development, costing or footwear supply chain strongly preferred
  • 4+ years proven people leadership experience – with a demonstrated ability to inspire, lead and develop direct and indirect teams
  • Systems thinking capabilities with ability to effectively apply knowledge of manufacturing operations and think beyond the traditional solutions to drive improvements against goals.
  • Leads with influence and establishes effective relationships across functions. Known for being a strong solutions-orientated collaborator with ability to influence in a highly matrixed organization across a variety of internal and external partners with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Proficient in standard MS Office programs 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 


WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

If this is you, you will be working with your team, with the extended Nike Manufacturing Engineering team, other global cross-functional Nike teams and Factory Partners to create, lead and drive key manufacturing strategic initiatives across Nike’s world class Footwear manufacturing network.  

  • Partner with Footwear Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Manufacturing leadership teams to develop, lead and drive implementation global strategic initiatives
  • Work with NIKE Partner Manager, NIKE functional leaders and Factory Partner manufacturing leadership to communicate NIKE strategies and initiatives and align with cross-functional priorities.
  • Align with Factory Partners on strategic priorities, ensure factory partners’ make progress against Nike strategic goals and adhere to Nike’s manufacturing and quality standards
  • Monitor the overall effectiveness of Factory Partners’ Operating Systems (e.g. Quality Management, Nike Manufacturing and Digital Manufacturing) and ensure Factory Partners are driving continuous improvement to address issues
  • Evaluate and align with Factory Partners, Nike Partner Management, Finance and Sourcing on due diligence of Automation, Modernization and Digitization strategic investments to ensure mutual benefit.

On any given day, you might be leading or participating in team meetings or workshops, brainstorming solutions to complex problems, providing input into strategic programs, meeting with Factory Partner counterpart or leading a working group on a footwear supply chain initiative.
