Job Description:
Associate Software Engineer
Collaborative Associate Software Engineer sought by industry-leading Canadian Asset Management & Insurance Company.
For a journey this exciting and complex, we are looking for an energetic person with a strong appetite for learning and a commitment to teamwork. In this role, you will work together with experienced software engineer, sub architects, business analysts, and testers to design, develop, and implement those solutions. You will learn our software delivery methodology and good software development practice, and continuously grow your technical knowledge, communication skills, and leadership skills.
We operate in a world where time-to-market and evolving business priorities drive our plans. The awesome person who fills this role will need to be resilient, a strong team member and equally effective in communicating and adapting to change as they champion good design and alignment with technical strategies.
What will you do?
Be a collaborative team member who continuously strives to improve the client experience, our team, and our processes
Learn JCL, COBOL or PL1, IMS, DB2, IDz and other mainframe programming skills
Grow your problem solving and software development skills
Demonstrate strong ownership of technical work
Create/update team artifacts and deliver value to the client
What you will need to succeed?

Keen appetite for learning relevant technologies and for continuous self-improvement
This opportunity is available to students with a August 2026 or later graduation date
Ideally, we’ll also get somebody with one or more of the following:
Excellent communication and organization skills
Keen appetite for learning relevant technologies and for continuous self-improvement
Strong problem solving and analysis skills
Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins is a plus
Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban would be an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
