Global Derivative Services is responsible for all back-office functions that support derivative trading enterprise-wide, including both the General Account and 3rd party funds managed by Manulife Investment Management across multiple legal entities, segments and portfolios.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate processing of trade life cycle events across all product types, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange.
  • Interact with the Accounting and Middle Office teams on issues pertaining to valuation and data integrity and will also need the ability to multi-task and deal with competing priorities, as this is a dynamic, fast paced environment in constant change.
  • Establish strong working relationships with various business unit managers and traders to ensure a timely and accurate trade life cycle.
  • Develop an understanding of the current investment operations landscape and how global financial reform impacts our firm.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics and equivalent experience working in a derivatives back or middle office environment.
  • A minimum 5 years of Investment Operations and/or Derivatives Operations industry experience with an emphasis on trade life cycle and settlements.
  • A required minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using BlackRock's Aladdin operations platform.
  • Excellent analytical skills, high level of accuracy and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors and recommend solutions.
  • Solid organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing environments and deal with competing priorities.
  • Team player with demonstrated experience building and maintaining good working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Influence and work collaboratively with stakeholders in a sophisticated and demanding business environment.

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,475.00 USD - $160,290.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
