POSITION OVERVIEW

The Substitute staff will work closely with staff, teachers, administrators, and other team members to provide the school with efficient processes and play an instrumental part in supporting students with educational benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent’s performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or manager.

  • Works with campus staff and administrators in a K-8 setting to support operational functions throughout the school. Ie. driveline pick-up/drop off and lunch and recess duty, light cleaning between lunch periods.
  • Assist in the copy room prepping materials for teachers
  • Provides breaks office staff coverage by answering phones and checking in students
  • Supports teachers in the classroom with grading, creating bulletin boards, etc.
  • Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
  • Interacts with students is a positive professional manner engaging them in their learning
  • Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods and field trips.
  • Floats to areas of need supporting staff breaks
  • Periodically assist in the drop-off and pick-up of children through Driveline, possibly during inclement weather.  How Driveline Operates at LTS (video)

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • Good communication skills with students, coworkers, administration and parents.
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
