Get to know the business

ERM is responsible for managing and overseeing risk at AIG. In that capacity, ERM supports the Board of Directors and management to determine strategy while balancing profitability, risk and growth. Through global teams, ERM oversees the implementation of AIG’s risk framework and drives the maturity of related risk policies, standards, frameworks and capabilities. Through controls and metrics, ERM oversees that risks are maintained across AIG within predefined ranges as the company executes against business plans and strategic actions.

About the role

ERM is building and refining an enterprise-wide emerging risk framework throughout the company. The analyst will work to enhance and integrate an approach to identifying, assessing, and managing emerging risks across functions and geographies. The analyst will regularly meet with business leaders to discuss potential emerging risks and trends. This position will also assist in partnering with CUO and business leaders to proactively manage critical aggregations and non-modelled risks.

Positional Responsibilities:

  • Collect, process, catalog, and document information om emerging risk topics as required.

  • Respond to requests for ad-hoc risk analysis and research topics as required.

  • Organize and participate in regular meeting with business leaders on emerging risk issues.

  • Collaboration on interdepartmental and strategic projects to better assess and manage emerging risk issues.

  • Produce concise, written analysis and visual presentation of findings.

  • Write tactical and strategic assessments under deadlines.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in a related field, or any combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Professional, clear, and concise communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent analytical ability, sharp attention to detail, creative problem solving, and consultative skills.

  • Willingness to learn and advance knowledge of emerging issues

  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team while managing deadlines.

  • Ability to confront unexpected problems and communicate viable options concisely.
