As an EMEA Indirect tax (VAT) Manager at Avnet, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring VAT compliance and providing expert advisory services. You will be responsible for managing VAT-related projects, advising on VAT matters, and ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant VAT regulations. Your expertise will support various departments, contributing to the company's overall tax strategy and operational efficiency. You will report to the European Head of Indirect Tax.

Your tasks & responsibilities as an Indirect Tax Manager:

• Develop professional relationships with the business and provide day-to-day support on requests, advice on (inter)national VAT matters and developments, be the liaison between business and external advisors and coordinate between different teams, including Finance, IT, legal, and other stakeholders;
• Manage the VAT compliance for the VAT registrations held in the EMEA region
• Liaise with external VAT advisors
• Manage VAT audits
• Perform VAT health checks
• Follow and implement changes in the VAT legislation in the EMEA region
• Develop and maintain VAT training materials and resources.

Your profile:

• Completed degree in business administration, economics, law or comparable qualifications. Specialization or post-graduation in tax is a plus
• 5 years of professional experience in an international tax (VAT) department , tax consultancy or law firm
• Profound analytical skills & a technical mind, well organized and good attention to details
• Proven experience in providing VAT advisory services and managing VAT projects.
• Strong understanding of EMEA VAT regulations and compliance requirements
• Basic knowledge of corporate tax is a plus
• Good communication skills
• Team player with ability to work autonomously in a customer-driven and results oriented environment
• Profound knowledge of common software (MS Office, Powerpoint & notably Excel) & company/business-specific software applications, knowledge of SAP and tax technology
• Excellent English language skills (oral and in writing) in order to fulfill internal requirements, knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus
• You like to work in a team and you have the potential to grow and develop within the in-house tax team
